UNBOUND Visual Artists for Public Spaces Development Programme (2024-2025)

UNBOUND artist development programme was delivered as part of Our Year - Wakefield District 2024 by BEAM and Yorkshire and Humberside Visual Artists Network. The programme was developed to address some of the challenges and barriers that exist for artists seeking to deliver their work in public spaces. In this programme I was mentored by Douglas Black, who I shadowed in the development of his mural at Hemswell Library. He also assisted me in the creation of They Didn’t Believe Me.

The programme was structured with 6 training sessions, these covered everything from applying for opportunities, safety while working at height and marketing yourself. It also provided a great opportunity to network and meet other local practitioners.
